Windscribe VPN review
PROS
- High level of privacy with strong encryption
Windscribe VPN uses AES-256 cipher encryption which is the best encryption known to human to this day. This means you are secured completely and there is no doubt about it. There are no known hacks has being occurred with Windscribe so far. Also unlike some VPN services, Windscribe does not store logging data. So your privacy is completely safe.
- No leaks and Viruses
There are leaks such as WebRTC leak, IP leak, DNS leak but all of them are negative when it comes to Windscribe. This is a huge advantage of using Windscribe and also there are hidden viruses when downloading the software. So you can download this VPN to your device without a virus guard.
- Torrents are allowed
Some VPN services don’t support torrents but not Windscribe. You can download and upload torrents when using Windscribe VPN to hide your location. So if you are in a country where tormenting is prohibited, you can easily get Windscribe for free and use torrents all you want without any issue. Keep in mind that not all their servers support torrents. So make sure to use a server that supports torrents.
- User Friendly Interface
The interface of Windscribe is very user friendly. Also you can download this VPN to multiple devices with different platforms.
And like this, you can create a new free account with ease.
- Support all platforms
Windscribe supports Windows, Mac, Linux, iOS and Android. It even supports web browsers like Google chrome, Firefox, Opera and MS Edge.
- Supports Netflix
Unlike some VPN services, Windscribe supports Netflix with ease. You can also use Windscribe to unlock Hulu and Amazon Prime. But sadly this doesn’t support HBO max yet but fingers crossed.
CONS
- Canadian Jurisdiction
5 eyes jurisdiction dates back to World War 2. If you haven’t heard of it before, this is an intelligence alliance between Australia, Canada, New Zealand, USA and UK. Since Canada is a founding member of 5 eyes jurisdiction, they have to comply if forced by these countries in a situation. This is a highly unlikely situation but if you are using Windscribe, then you have to keep this in mind just in case.
- Slow down your internet speed significantly
When using Windscribe VPN, it will reduce your speed by almost 50%. Reduced speed is a common thing for any VPN service but 50% is too much. If you have a faster internet connection then 50% of it would still be fast enough for you but if you have a normal internet connection, then this would be a huge issue.
- Not all the servers are active
Windscribe has over 480 servers in 50 countries. But not all of these servers are active all the time. It might become an issue when you try to get a server from a country at a bad time. So keep that in mind that not all servers are available 24/7.
- Customer support is not very good
Windscribe mostly has bots as their customer support so you might not get proper customer support when you need it. My personal opinion is you can’t rely on Windscribe customer support if you have a major issue. If you have a simple or a common issue then this customer support might be effective but it won’t be if you have a serious problem with your Windscribe VPN.
Conclusion
Overall wise, Windscribe is a very good VPN because it has high security and privacy. It also supports all major platforms like windows, mac, android and iOS. It even supports Netflix and other major streaming services.
Would I recommend buying Windscribe????? NO
The reason for this is, Windscribe offers most of its features in their free version. So you can get all of these pros with the free version. If you pay for it, you will just get some useless features for your money.
So I highly recommend Windscribe as a VPN for you to use but I don’t recommend buying it.
